About Your Best Behavior:
Duncannon-Based Private Dog Trainer
Your Best Behavior is owned and operated by Jill Hallam-Miller and serves Perry and Northern Dauphin Counties. As a private dog trainer offering in-home dog training and group dog classes in Duncannon and the surrounding areas, I'm here to help you problem-solve dog training and behavior issues at any life stage from puppyhood to senior to keep your dog on their best behavior.
About Jill
My approach to training involves using positive reinforcement and a force-free, fear-free approach to helping your dog develop desired skills and behaviors. Training should be fun for both you and your dog, and most dogs enjoy the mental stimulation provided by training. My ultimate goal is to see you and your dog through all the stages of your dog's life (from puppyhood into the senior years). I love watching dogs learn and seeing the excitement of a dog and handler recognizing that learning is happening!
A positive approach to training makes that a reality every day!

A little about me and my family:
My husband and I currently have three Australian Shepherds, Odin (born 2012), Taylor (born ~2015), and Mirabel (born 2023). In 2022, we lost our Australian Shepherd Granite (born 2013), who will always be in our hearts. I have been training since 2012, when Odin came into our lives. My dogs have earned titles in Rally-O, AKC Tricks, and Barn Hunt, they have some experience with scent work, are Canine Good Citizens (Mirabel is a future Canine Good Citizen!), and Granite was a certified therapy dog.

I have trained as a volunteer for Supporting Paws Foundation since 2014.

Continuing education is a critical component of my approach to training and behavior modification. My credentials mean I have the skills, knowledge, and experience to help you achieve your goals for your dog's behavior.

In addition, through my many years of experience working in higher education (I am an academic librarian by day) and in leadership roles, I have developed patience, empathy, and compassion, and these values extend into my work with dogs and their humans.
I would love to work with you and your dog(s). Let me help you get your new puppy off to a great start, develop and refine the skills of your adolescent dog, and work on making sure your adult dog is welcomed everywhere you go! Contact me today to get started!
